The Belvedere Mykonos features 42 rooms and suites in the main complex, a stunning 7-bedroom villa next door, a 3-bedroom waterfront villa just 350 meters away, and 26 additional rooms and suites a short walk uphill. With signature experiences like Matsuhisa Mykonos, the Six Senses Spa, and the iconic Belvedere pool, every stay promises to be memorable.

The story

The story of the Belvedere Hotel begins in the 1920s at Villa Stoupa, the Campanis family’s summer residence that soon developed a reputation as a Mykonian oasis. By 1969, Sofia Ioannidou-Campanis started to rent out the villa, and a year later, Italian-American painter Piero Aversa adopted it as his summer sanctuary, whose legendary dinners and fascinating guests—from socialites to artists—added an air of glamour to its reputation.

Your stay

The Belvedere’s design echoes the winding lanes of Chora, creating pockets of spontaneity, connection, and play that capture the free-spirited essence of Mykonos.

Inspired by Cycladic simplicity, the rooms blend aquamarine accents with hand-cut marble mosaics, crystal ice marble floors, and ergonomic walnut furnishings – offering understated luxury without sharp edges, reflecting the fluidity of the sea.

A five-minute walk from the main complex, the Belvedere Waterfront Villa, once known as the “Phantom Villa,” balances seclusion and proximity to Mykonos Town Center. Built-in the late ’60s and hidden behind whitewashed walls, this former private residence overlooks the iconic windmills and the Aegean Sea.

How to spend your time

Begin your day at the Mykonos old port, right outside the Belvedere. Watch fishermen unload their catch, explore bustling market stalls, and soak in the island’s early-morning charm. Take a 30-minute boat ride to Delos, where ancient temples and statues tell stories of Apollo, the god of light. Swing by Rhenia island for a refreshing dip in crystal-clear waters.

Wrap up your day at Matsuhisa Mykonos, where Chef Nobu’s New Style Japanese cuisine is served under the Mykonos stars. For a nightcap, visit the Sunken Watermelon Cocktail Bar.
