The Luxury travel industry has really captivated me and has become my passion over the past 11 years. I fell in love with Italy during my study-abroad program and my love for the country has only grown as I explore lesser known regions. I am currently the founder and senior travel advisor of SL Travel Advisors, an affiliate of Ovation Travel Group based in New York. My previous career was as a registered dietitian so I enjoy including wellness into my trips while not compromising “la dolce vita”. As a new parent, I am very in tune to what families need, especially those traveling with young children. Happy kids make happy parents! . My biggest reward is always the positive feedback I get from clients, especially young honeymooners who are just beginning their lives together and possibly using a large portion of their well-earned savings for their most special trip. It is the one time they really want to be blown away and that gives me the opportunity to be creative beyond the normal romantic turndown. Personal touches and human connection are truly what elevates a trip. Multi-generational trips are also one of my favorites because I love the challenge of finding activities to engage all ages and bringing families together. Grandparents truly feel that capturing these moments with their children and grandchildren and priceless. Sylvia has been Listed on the top 30 under 30 back in 2012 and has made the Travel and Leisure A-List two years in a row.

My absolute favorite Querido hotel memory was at Capri Tiberio Palace in on my honeymoon. As a wedding gift, Carlos arranged for an Italian singer to come to my room around sunset and sing for us on our gorgeous balcony overlooking the sea. Of course, he also sent a bottle of champagne and some canapes. The singer played guitar and sang traditional Italian songs as well as some favorite English songs for about an hour as the sun went down; it was surreal.

Insider Tip

Sao Lourenco do Barrocal in Alentejo, Portugal is a 5 star hotel but still a working farm. The renovation took 14 years to complete! Many hotels claim to offer “farm to table” cuisine, but this is the real deal! It is also an incredible place for star gazing since there is little air pollution surrounding the farm.

Next Dream Trip?

It has been my dream for some time to visit Puglia. It is a part of Italy that I have still not been able to visit. I’d love to visit the Trulli, relax on the beaches, eat rustic Italian food and visit an olive oil farm. In close second would be a trip to Sha Wellness, especially post-partum to refresh my body and more importantly, my mind!

Cannot travel without...

I cannot travel without a bottle of water and moisturizer. Currently using Embryolisse lait creme. Hydration is key!
