After working as a corporate law attorney for 12 years and moonlighting as a travel advisor to my friends and family, I had a knack for planning travel that I knew I needed to explore on another level. To say that I had wanderlust was an understatement: before I returned from each trip, I was already dreaming of where I would jet off to next. I turned my passion into a career by joining the travel industry in 2015 as an affiliate of In the Know Experiences. I currently reside in New York City with my husband, two children and our pet Cavapoo.

When staying at Borgo Egnazia with my family and dear friends of ours, we attended an Apulian festival on our final night that was inspired by an authentic Puglia tradition honoring the ancient art of preparing "tomato sauce,” which is then used throughout the year, and holding tight the homemade recipe in memory of grandmothers and rural workers. The traditional event was held in the main piazza of the hotel and all the hotel’s guests attended. There was live music, dancing, singing, ladies making orecchiette and tomato sauce from scratch, entertainment for the kids and adults, and more food and wine than you could even imagine. It felt like we were at a wedding with 400 friends! Everyone had the best time that night.

Insider Tip

Palazzo Avino has a beach club so when you stay there, you get the best of both worlds. Sleep in the charming clifftop town of Ravello with its breathtaking Amalfi Coast views, and during the day enjoy the sea at the hotel’s private beach club.

Next Dream Trip?

Borgo Santo Pietro for its picturesque setting in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, amongst the vineyards and rolling hills. Italy holds a special place in my heart as I’ve lived in the country twice – once in Florence and another time in Milan – each for a few months at different points in my life.
