Discover Winter at Passalacqua

The winter experience at Passalacqua in Lake Como welcomes guests to truly make themselves feel at home indulging in all that the Villa and its surroundings have to offer. The De Santis family’s love and vast knowledge of the region, alongside their team of experts, ensure guests experience the true magic of Lake Como.

Surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, the Villa provides a tranquil setting for guests to relax and rejuvenate. Take in the season’s changing colors from the glasshouse decorated in vibrant LaDoubleJ fabrics, a stroll through the estate’s terraced gardens, or work out in the olive grove gym and play a couple of sets on the panoramic tennis court. For those looking for a unique experience, the Villa also offers bocce – a traditional Italian game similar to lawn bowling.

As the weather cools and the days grow shorter, it can be easy to spend more time indoors. However, this is also the perfect time to explore the beauty of the Villa, with its stunning frescoes, elegant baroque style, and exquisite craftsmanship.

With so many activities to choose from, guests can take an inside look into the life of a Villa in Como. After waking up with yoga overlooking the sunrise over the snow capped mountains or a well-deserved massage at the spa, enjoy a homemade breakfast featuring fresh eggs collected right outside your suite window or fresh pizza using all locally grown ingredients. During the afternoon, meet with the in house florist to create dramatic flower arrangements or a hike to forage mushrooms near mountain streams.

Make sure to stop by the open kitchen at the Villa to prepare a tasty snack or challenge yourself with some Italian recipes. The talented chefs will be on hand to help you out and teach you some tips and tricks.

Lake Como transforms into a magical winter wonderland during Natale a Como with Christmas markets, events, and the Magic Light Festival. Enjoy the opera season at the Teatro Sociale. Exclusive ‘behind-the-scenes’ tours can be arranged at Passalacqua before the shows, where guests can meet the talented artists. With ‘Norma’ by Bellini being performed, the special connection between Passalacqua and one of Italy’s most iconic composer, Vincenzo Bellini, who made the Villa his home in 1829, makes the experience all the more memorable.

We are beyond excited for you to experience the magic of Christmas at Passalacqua. From baking a reinvented ‘panettone’ with your favorite toppings or creating decorations using freshly picked flowers from the gardens, one thing we encourage you not to miss – A masterclass with the General Manager Silvio Vettorello creating stunning Christmas wreaths and tree ornaments.
